What Can’t God Do?

What Can’t God Do?
“I am the LORD, the God of every person on the earth. Nothing is impossible for me.”-Jeremiah 32:27

There are many stories in the Bible that describe God’s amazing power. He did many miracles by using sinful people, angels, prophets, and a donkey. The miracles He did were special because they are things we may never experience in this lifetime. The miracles show God’s power but also help us not to doubt what God can do or will do in our lives.

There are a lot of miracles God did. There were so many that it is hard to mention all in a short devotional. There are some worth mentioning. Some miracles are well known by many like God creating everything in six days, God raising Jesus from the dead, and God using the Holy Spirit to get Mary pregnant.

We may not have heard some of the miracles God has done before. God allowed a donkey to talk to his master, Balaam, after he hit his donkey three times for not obeying him (Numbers 22:28). The donkey was just doing what God’s angel commanded him to. God did not want Balaam to go to visit Balak (Numbers 22:21-35).

Jesus raised His friend Lazarus from the dead. This is an indescribable miracle because Jesus raised Lazarus after being dead for four days (John 11:43-44). Another miracle was when Paul raised Eutychus back from the dead after he fell three stories to his death out of a window while listening to Paul preach (Acts 20:9-12).

God also turned Lot’s wife into a pillar of salt after she looked back at the burning cities of Sodom and Gomorrah after the angels told them not to do it (Genesis 19:17), (Genesis 19: 26).

God uses any means possible to accomplish His will. Even if it is a donkey. These miracles show that we serve a powerful God. Why do we doubt what He says or what He can do? We can look to the miracles in the Scriptures to remind us “what can’t He do?”

Prayer of the day:

Dear heavenly Father,

You are very powerful and with Your power You can do anything. The miracles You have done and will do are indescribable. We cannot wait to witness more of Your power whenever You’re ready to show us. We are blessed and grateful to have You as our God. In Jesus’ great name we pray, Amen!
