The Importance of Evangelism

The Importance of Evangelism
“But before people can ask the Lord for help, they must believe in Him; and before they can believe in Him, they must hear about Him; and for them to hear about the Lord, someone must tell them.”-Romans 10:14

Where were you when you heard about Jesus? How did it make you feel that God would send His only Son to die on the cross for your sins? The Gospel has great power to change a person’s life and all it takes is hearing about it. But how can a person hear the Gospel without someone telling them? That is the importance of evangelism in this world that is full of people who have not heard about Jesus.

Before knowing Jesus and accepting Him as our savior, we were slaves to sin (Romans 6:6). God is very kind and makes it simple for us to be saved. It is as easy as hearing someone telling us about the Gospel. Evangelism is not as difficult as we think. It is simply telling others what God has done in our life. Everyone has a story to tell about how God has changed their life. What if He delivered you from an addiction or healed you from cancer? If He has let you hear and accept His promise of salvation, then God can use your experience to help others to understand the Gospel.

We do not need professional training to evangelize but the willingness to share our faith and our testimony with others. Being a faithful servant of God through evangelism is a rewarding job because we have the opportunity to witness people turning from sin to salvation which saves souls from suffering eternal punishment.

Prayer of the day:

Dear heavenly Father,

Please give us the courage to share our experience of salvation with others. Sharing what we know about Jesus can help others see Your power and what You have done and will do. We are praying for You to open the minds of people who are hearing the truth about Jesus. We want to thank You for saving us and giving us the chance to evangelize. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!
